Celebrity Cruises
Celebrity attracts an extremely diverse passenger
base, targeting, in particular, baby boomers and their families (but
also attracting seniors and honeymooners). The cruise line also draws
travelers from a pleasant geographic range, including the U.S., Canada,
and UK. Longer voyages in more distant locales, from Europe to South
America, tend to draw an older crowd, while week-long treks to places
lie the Caribbean, Bermuda, and Alaska are magnets for families. In an effort
to attract more multi-generational groups, Celebrity’s family programs
have expanded to include teen centers and more enrichment and educational programs
for children.
Holland
America
Holland America has long had a reputation
for catering to a somewhat tradition-minded crowd. But it’s also making a concerted
effort to attract passengers beyond its usual core base of the
50- plus crowd. By integrating some of the cruise industry’s
most important new features, the line hopes to draw in more
families and younger-hipper-cruises.
Oceania Cruises
Passengers tend to fall into the older ranges (50-plus), are usually
well-traveled, and almost entirely from the U.S.
Windstar Cruises
Passengers tend to be somewhat younger and more highly educated
than on most cruises because of the unusual ports and variety of
hard and soft adventure. |
